Holiday Pinks!

Jean Criss

As we approach our year-end on a Pink note, we highlight all the fabulous shades of Pink that bring joy to Breast Cancer Survivors. For me, it’s not just about Survivorship. It’s about humor, laughter, family, friends, fun and everything wonderous! This year, I think we have all learned more about the robust shades of the color pink than anyone ever knew existed, with special thanks to the award-winning motion picture Barbie.

I had the wonderful opportunity to be invited to attend the Post-Production NY insider review of The Making of Barbieland, a program hosted by the Governor’s Office of Motion Picture and Television Development (MPTV), part of Empire State Development with the New York State’s film office.

It was so enlightening to learn about the behind the scenes making of the film. How the producers narrowed down 100 shades of Pink to 20 to use in set productions, costumes, and more. I personally enjoy the shade of magenta Pink mixed with other bright colors to complete my own fashion ensembles. A touch of Magenta used in home Decor to brighten up my mood, and a revelation of Pinks that bring joy to the world with floral arrangements and other seasonal holiday displays!

Christmastime

is not

just about the Reds

If you mix the reds up with beautiful citron greens, add berries, other greenery, even accents of rustic vivid oranges, plums, and magenta, you have the makings of a great floral arrangement and a piece of art. I enjoy colorful things and artistic designs.

In fact, that is why I designed the CRISSCROSS Intimates collection in ten beautiful bold colors to rock a survivor’s world so you may recover in style and feel invigorated and sexy while you heal. Feel Confident, Look Beautiful or Handsome as the taglines note.

I recall having my bilateral mastectomy over the 2007 Christmas holiday season, and while I did not expect to continue that journey for so many years post-operatively, I just knew I wanted to recover in style. I desired to feel good about myself no matter what it took. I wanted to look sexy and as normal as possible as a women venturing into new territory losing her breasts. I wanted to wear fashionable apparel that would not show “cancer patient” to anyone looking at me. I wanted to leave the office, get thru my surgery to return to work without any staff knowing what I just went thru. Well, while I did a great job hiding all that to the best of my ability, the intimate apparel held me back.

I ended up wearing men’s dress shirts over my utilitarian ugly white zipper bras to hide what felt like a straight jacket on my chest. Or, the baby pink Bra that made me feel like a little girl with hard plastic ring loops that hurt my sides attempting to hold the medical drains. The Velcro woke the neighbors honestly and the designs elements, went on and on that were not attractive whatsoever! If the surgery alone wasn’t painful enough, the bras were just as painful and ugly to look at. So, hence my designs and brand innovation to fashion forward this industry with chic comfortable, affordable, compression undergarments to wear under any garment and look like a million bucks!

Yes, this fashionable line was designed right from my hospital bed during one long stay while recovering from a breast infection, and since that time, I have pushed fashion to new limits. Crisscross has been an award-winning, utility patented line of post-surgical undergarments, also worn as adaptive and active wear, so versatile throughout post-recovery.

So, if you are planning to undergo any form of post-breast surgery this holiday season and want to Pink it Up a bit, or wear another hot bright color under your holiday attire, turn to our fashionable line. Our original Pink it Up blog post can tell you a little more about the use of the Color of Pink and how I integrated magenta into our collection. But if you’re like me, and would like to Feel Confident and Look Beautiful, don’t hesitate and order your matching Bra and Panty set today. Wear it before, during and after surgery. It’s that versatile. It can be worn to support the medical drainage tubes post-surgery, worn during Yoga, Pilates, and other sports activities. It’s that comfortable.

We even have women buying the Nina Bra who have never endured breast surgery whatsoever! Here’s a great testimony from one of our customers.

So, Pink it Up! this holiday season and shop CRISSCROSS Intimates! Special promotions are found on the website and throughout social media.

Wishing you all the breast this holiday season!
